There are a ton of new art exhibitions, theatrical productions and live performances debuting this weekend in Bucks County!

The Mercer Museum’s African American Quilts: From Traditional to Contemporary will be unveiled this Saturday, highlighting the African-American quilting artists from the past and present. Lesli Margherita returns to the Bucks County Playhouse this weekend with her brand-new storytelling concert, This Broad’s Way. The James A. Michener Art Museum opens its Magical & Real: Henriette Wyeth and Peter Hurd, A Retrospective, an exhibition featuring the work of two great American artists.

Friday, January 19

Kick, Al Grout, Tinsley Ellis and Rude Boy George at Sellersville Theater

Sellersville Theater has exciting acts lined up all weekend starting with Kick, a tribute performance to the internationally acclaimed rock band, INXS. The rest of the weekend includes performances by magician and comedian Al Grout, southern guitarist and vocalist Tinsley Ellis and New Wave musicians Rude Boy George.

A Time to Break Silence: Pictures of Social Change at the Michener Art Museum

Celebrate the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.’s groundbreaking and most controversial speech entitled, “Beyond Vietnam: A Time to Break Silence.” This exhibition surveys the modes in which visual culture documents protest, political transformations and social change.

The Winter Unwined at Shady Brook Farm

African American Quilts: From Traditional to Contemporary at the Mercer Museum

The Mercer Museum is debuting its new exhibit, African American Quilts: From Traditional to Contemporary, which features beautiful textile collections ranging from historical pieces of the late Cuesta Benberry to contemporary works from the Friendly Quilters of Bucks County. There will also be a family Adinkra Block Printing activity during the opening day, so bring the kids along!

This Broad’s Way at the Bucks County Playhouse
