This weekend in Bucks County use Leap Day 2020 to participate in a Doylestown floral arrangement class, take a bike ride from Washington Crossing to New Hope, or shop for deals in Peddler’s Village!

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 28

Impressionism to Modernism: The Lenfest Collection of American Art

In 1999, the Michener Art Museum received the most important collections gift in its history: 59 Pennsylvania Impressionist paintings from Marguerite and Gerry Lenfest. This collection is the finest collection of the art of Bucks County, which consists of works by Garber, Coppedge, Folinsbee, Lathrop, Redfield, Sotter, Spencer, Baum & Schofield.

When: Runs Daily Through March 1, 10 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Leap Year Sale

Enjoy the extra day and leap into great deals—just like Leap Year, a sale this good doesn't come around very often! Stop in and shop heavily discounted past vintage wines; arrive early to shop an assortment of wine in the clearance wine bins. While you're here experience a traditional wine tasting, wine flight, wine cocktails and local craft beer.

Miss Nelson Is Missing - A Family Theatre Production Adapted By Jeffrey Hatcher

A great show to introduce the kids to theater; sweet Miss Nelson is just too nice. Her classroom is chaotic, and her students are out of control. One day, she disappears, and her class is now being taught by mean, tough-as-nails Viola Swamp. Miss Nelson's class realizes how much they miss her, and they set out to uncover the mystery of her disappearance.

When: Recurring weekly on Sunday, Friday, Saturday until March 8
Where: DCP Theatre

Ponstingl: Dreams of Past Futures

Ponstingl’s work represented in this exhibition spans the 1960s until the late 1970s. Inspired by dreams, his work in the 1960s recalls the work of Salvador Dalí and other Surrealist painters, and in the 1970s, he experimented with abstract patterning. A recurring theme in his paintings are visions of abandoned, future civilizations. His work can be seen at the Michener for a limited time only!

Selma Bortner: The Journey

Selma Bortner, an innovative printmaker and beloved art professor at Bucks County Community College, drew upon folklore and myth with bold and colorful, graphic imagery that still resonates strongly today. To celebrate Bortner, who passed away in August 2019, this exhibition features some of the artist’s most iconic prints from her family and the Michener’s permanent collection.

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 29

Leap Into Spring With Alice's Table!

Roses are red, violets are blue… meet up at Fox and Holly and have some fun with friends and flowers! This instructional class includes a step-by-step creation guide for a personalized arrangement for yourself or a loved one. Spend the extra day this year reconnecting with nature.

First Anniversary Celebration

Help Canal’s End Antiques celebrate their 1st anniversary in historic Bristol Borough! Bring in a favorite antique for appraisal and enjoy food, fun and of course, great memories.

Crime of Thrones

Leap Day Bike Tour

How about taking the extra day this year and using it for a fun and easy bike ride along the Delaware River? Join in on the guided bike tour from Washington Crossing Park to New Hope. Ride time about 35-45 minutes each way. Stop in New Hope for refreshments and shopping. Bring your own bikes and helmets or take advantage of provided rentals for a small additional fee.

Special Movie Event - "1917"

Check out a special showing of an Academy Award Winner for Best Cinematography, Best Visual Effects, and Best Sound Mixing. On April 6, 1917 a regiment assembles to wage war deep in enemy territory. Two soldiers are assigned to race against time and deliver a message that will stop 1,600 men from walking straight into a deadly trap. Rated R.

SUNDAY, MARCH 1

Cheers to Murder

Interactive Murder-Mystery Dinner Theater? Yes, please! Join Sam, Diane, Carla, and Cliff as they mourn their longtime friend, Norm, at his wake. Questionable circumstances surround his demise at this very bar, so beware – accusations fly, tempers get heated, pasts are dug up, and someone (maybe even you) could be the next victim.

Family Drawing Day

Parents are encouraged to bring children 6 & up to this fun day at Michener Art Museum! Get inspired by the featured exhibits at the museum and work with a variety of art materials.

Family Fun Sunday

Every Sunday is now family day at Stumpy’s Bucks County! Families with teens, 13 and older, can enjoy the thrill of axe throwing in a safe environment.

Building On The Dream: From Africa To Bucks County

The exhibit pays tribute to the lives, culture, accomplishments and contributions of African Americans in Bucks County, featuring a timeline of events in African American history in Pennsylvania and the history of the Underground Railroad in Bucks County.

When: Now Through April 7, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Where: Bucks County Visitor Center
Cost: Free to attend

Concordia Chamber Players Presents Diacritical Marks

A breathtaking performance of piano, violin, viola and cello, Diacritical Marks is comprised of 8 short movements creating a sense of urgency and rhapsodic lyricism with great attention to detail. It is lush with melodies and grand in scope in the category of works by Brahms, Schumann, and Dvorak.
